Course Info

Eli Dorfmam believes that an understanding of Jewish mystical tradition helps one to understand many spiritual concepts expressed in the New Testament. And conversely, spiritual ideas expressed in the New Testament offer greater clarity to many traditional Jewish mystical ideas. The Mystery of God and His Shekhinah I introduces students to the broader topic of Jewish Mysticism. The lecturer explains the Midrashic way of thinking and introduces the audience to a key book in the Kaballah tradition - the Zohar. The course proceeds to outline the concept of Tzimtzum and presents the overview of the system of Sephirot, relating them to the spiritual ideas expressed in the New Testament. Be prepared to look beyond the surface to trace the spiritual ideas through the pages of the Bible and tradition.

So far this course on the Mystery of God and His Shekhinah is quite knowledgeable and interesting. I especially enjoy how the Professor uses the Midrash and Zohar to explain how there are many different ways to interpret the Scriptures. I t also enhances some of what I learned in Seminary.

Once I got past the first few lessons in which, as a man brought up as a Protestant, I felt some things said were outlandish, if not outright ridiculous. But halfway through the course, things made better sense. Then, much of what was said, are things I've believed for some time. Especially the last 5 lessons. This is why in Rev, Yeshua says I am the Alef, and the Tau, the first and the last.
